[Adventure to...] Corlieu Falls, Sierra National Forest

Just 15 minutes north of Oakhurst on Highway 41, there's a parking lot with access to the trails at Lewis Creek. You'll actually see a sign indicating where to park.

The trail head is at the north end of the parking lot and there is a warning for mountain lions that all hikers should read before continuing on the trail.

Not too far down the path, the trail separates. Take the trail on the right towards Corlieu Falls.

It only takes about five to ten minutes to hike to Upper Corlieu Falls for this view:

We did some exploring around the area and actually found a natural hot spring. You could smell sulfur, but it was pretty faint. The water wasn't very warm, but still much warmer than the water in the creek flowing next to it.

We had gotten to the trail a little late this time around and explored the area for a little bit longer than expected, so we didn't get to the lower falls, but if you continue down the trail about another five minutes or so, there is actually a deck that has a breathtaking view of the falls. The trail still continues even after, but keep in mind the hike gets much steeper here.
